AI systems which categorise individuals based on their biometric data in order to deduce or infer their race, political opinions, trade union membership, religious or philosophical belies, sex life or sexual orientation are prohibited. This prohibition does not cover the labelling or filtering of lawfully acquired biometric datasets, like images, based on biometric data in the area of law enforcement. The datasets should be lawfully collected and the AI system should be intended for use in the area of law enforcement.
